I always knew storytelling was the path for me and I took what some might consider a non-traditional path to get into audio storytelling. As a career changer, I learned that the skills I was developing in the jobs I took to pay the bills — the retail jobs, the cubicle jobs, the direct service non-profit jobs, the customer service jobs; all taught me invaluable transferable skills that have served me in my career as an audio producer. I know first-hand how tough it can be to professionally get into this industry, so I hope a few of these resources below are helpful to you as you start out your career in podcasting. I’m still learning myself, but always happy to teach back what I know.
