Hi there! I’m Kristen Torres, a Los Angeles based freelance audio and video producer. I produce audio & visual stories that help us think critically about our shared humanity. I’m a curious person who is passionate about working creatively and collaboratively to elevate broadly shared, yet underrepresented life experiences through creative storytelling.

I’m currently producing a limited narrative series slated to come out later this fall. I co-run an audio/visual company with my partner, Fred Muñoz called Sounds Visual Studio where we consult, shoot, and edit video podcasts. As a freelance producer my clients include: Other People’s Pockets, LA Forward’s LA Podcast, Good Tape’s This Is TV Now, 826LA Young Author’s Podcast, and Turner Classic Movies & HBO Max’s Talking Pictures.

While at Pineapple Street Studios, I was one of the founding producers of The 11th (2022 ASME, 2023 Webby award winner). Producer of Classy with Jonathan Menjivar (Named as one of Time Magazine’s 100 best podcast of all time, featured as one of the best podcasts of 2023 by The New Yorker, Vogue, The Atlantic, Time Magazine, CBC, Lifehacker, and Apple). I also wrote, produced and directed my first fiction piece in the anthology series, You Feeling This? In 2024, I produced Million Dollar Advice in partnership with Audacy and Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions. I also produced the personal finance podcast, What We Spend (named by Vulture as one of the best podcast of the year… so far).

In 2018 I became the first Breakthrough Fellow at Stitcher/SiriusXM and went on to produce Just Between Us, Bad With Money, The Marvels, LeVar Burton Reads (2020 FIYAH Magazine Ignyte award winner), Dead Ass with Khadeen and Devale Ellis (2020 Webby award winner), Porsha4Real and The Suga with Tika Sumpter and Thai Randolph (2021 Gracie award winner).
